Nutrition Response Testing (NRT)
Your body has been pre-programmed to sustain life. Each cell, body part, organ and energy system is genetically encoded to work for continued survival of the organism. The autonomic nervous system (ANS) is the part of the nervous system that we cannot control with our mind. The ANS regulates breathing, heart rate, digestion, immune function, sleep patterns, hormone regulation, blood pressure, blood sugar levels, tissue regeneration, and liver and kidney detoxification.
Originally developed by physicians and neurologists, NRT grew out of the importance of detecting and correcting problems of the autonomic nervous system, as well as all other organs of the body. NRT allows the practitioner to restore the self-regulating mechanisms of the body, allowing the patient to return to a state of health.

Symptoms leading to these imbalances are theoretically caused by seven common factors. These include undiagnosed food allergies, heavy metal toxicity, petroleum chemical toxicity, chronic unresolved infections and scars, temporamandibular joint dysfunction (TMJ), unresolved psychological stress, and electromagnetic stress. Dr. Klinghard, M.D., has developed specific tests for these factors and treatments to correct them.
NRT is often effective where other treatments fail and is effective for most chronic and acute illnesses. These include but are not limited to allergies, chronic pain, chronic infections, immune problems, depression, anxiety, multiple sclerosis, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, pre-menstrual syndrome, menopause problems, cancer, diabetes, seizure disorders, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, sinusitis, digestive problems and many others.
NRT is taught through a series of classes from the American Academy of Neural Therapy or the American Academy of Neural Kinesiology. Most of the doctors using NRT are naturopathic physicians, medical doctors, doctors of orthopedics, chiropractors, acupuncturists or dentists.
